Solar Readiness
Independent Solar Design — Before Installation
Solar Readiness ensures your solar system is designed correctly before committing to installation.
• Solar systems are expected to operate for 20–25 years.
• Designing the system properly from the start is essential.
Introductory Launch Offer
Solar Readiness normally costs £75. To celebrate our local launch, we are offering the service at no cost to the first 30 homeowners in Wigan and Leigh.

Standard Pricing
Once our initial 30 launch assessments are completed, the service will return to its standard price of £75.
Why Solar Readiness Exists
Solar installations typically cost £10,000–£15,000.
Yet many systems are designed quickly using standard assumptions or installer templates.
Every home uses electricity differently.
Solar systems should be designed around how your home actually uses energy — not around a standard installation package.
Solar Readiness ensures system design decisions are based on verified information, not assumptions.
Many Homeowners Experience This
Different installers often recommend different system sizes, batteries and savings projections.
This can make it difficult to know which design is correct.
Solar Readiness reviews these assumptions and ensures the system is designed properly before installation begins.
What Solar Readiness Includes
• Analysis of your actual electricity consumption (via smart meter or bill data)
• Structural assessment of your roof (orientation, pitch, and materials)
• Shading analysis to identify trees or buildings that may impact generation
• Recommendations for battery storage capacity based on your usage patterns
This creates a verified 'Blueprint for Installation' that you can use to get fixed-price quotes from installers.
How the Process Works
1. Initial Enquiry — Register your interest and provide basic property information through our secure portal.
2. Usage Analysis — We review your electricity consumption patterns using smart meter data or billing history.
3. Remote Assessment — Our engineers perform a high-resolution satellite survey of your roof's orientation and shading profile.
4. Technical Design — We engineer a bespoke system design and battery storage capacity optimized for your specific home.
5. Blueprint Delivery — Receive your independent Solar Readiness report, providing verified specifications for your installation.
This blueprint is yours to keep. You can use it to obtain comparable, fixed-price quotes from any reputable installer with complete confidence.
What You Receive
At the end of Solar Readiness you will have:
• A solar system design tailored to your home
• Verified modelling of expected system performance
• Guidance on battery suitability and type
• Insight into how time-of-use tariffs may affect your system
• Clear explanation of how the system would work for your household
• Confidence before deciding whether to proceed
What We’ll Need From You
To complete Solar Readiness we may ask for a few simple details about your home.
Typically this includes:
• A recent electricity bill or 12 months of usage
• Photographs of the roof and property
• Location of the electric meter and consumer unit
• Basic information about how your household uses electricity
If helpful, we may also arrange a site visit to review the property.
If Installation Proceeds
Solar Clinic works with vetted, MCS-certified installation partners who share our commitment to designing and installing solar systems properly.
If you choose to proceed with installation, the £75 Solar Readiness fee is credited toward the installation cost.
If the assessment shows solar is unsuitable for your property, the £75 is refunded.
